Meet Your Coach!
Hi, I’m Laura Young...
I help busy moms lose weight, lower blood sugar, and eat with confidence by giving up dieting and simplifying family meals with real food + a clear strategy.
I’m a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Care + Education Specialist with over 15 years of experience.
My journey began in 2010, when I cultivated a passion I never knew I had: working with moms and children in nutrition education. It was here that I recognized the profound impact of early nutrition messages and habits, and how this shapes the future of a child’s health – from their relationship with food (most importantly!) to their adult eating patterns to their genetic predisposition for disease. Immediately, my mission became helping moms reconcile their own food relationship struggles to have confidence in how they feed themselves and their families.
Fast forward to 2018, I began working for a private physician group as a Diabetes Educator, where I carried over my maternal and child health expertise to help people of all ages manage diabetes through use of diet, exercise, medications, and blood glucose monitoring. This work came alongside counseling for weight management and other metabolic diseases.
Today, I’ve blended my expertise areas to help moms of school-aged children simplify family meals and give up “restrictive dieting” to effectively lose weight, cut their diabetes risk in half, and finally eat with confidence and enjoyment. My mission? To help you take charge of your health now and lay the foundation for healthier future generations.
When you work with me, you’re not getting generic nutrition and health advice. You’re getting a coach who has helped thousands improve their health, developed expertise from real-life experience, and understands the very real challenges you face. I also live the lifestyle, and I’m deeply invested in helping you create a new lifestyle that gives you and your family the futures you dream of.
Fun facts about me…
- I was raised by a Registered Dietitian and Diabetes Educator. It was not my intent to follow in my mom’s footsteps, but when your profession is woven into your very being and lifestyle, it becomes a passion and calling.
- I am a certified yoga instructor and lived in a Buddhist ashram for 3 weeks to complete my training. While I don’t practice the religious origins of yoga, I deeply believe in the benefits of the physical exercise and mindfulness practices.
- I met my husband on Match.com. He was the first date I had from the site, and one of only two. I guess I got lucky! We married 16 months later and now have two incredible children.
- I love traveling and spent a year traveling abroad in (mostly) Central America and Europe.
